OCTOBER 2008: Western Society for the Upliftment of Children (WSUC) - Montego Bay
Supplemented the school’s educational program by providing print-based and electronic curriculum materials. WSUC offers a day school for children ages 10 to 18. The school provides literacy and remedial education, as well as pre-vocational and technical training to students, many of whom have dropped out of the traditional school system.
JANUARY 2009: Children of Faith (COF) - Montego Bay
Provided new clothing to the children of this organization so they can attend school in comfort and with dignity. Children of Faith places children who have been orphaned by AIDS with family members and friends who are willing to take care of their daily needs but who are unable to finance their education. Through micro-lending and the development of income generating projects COF provides an opportunity for families to become self-sufficient.
CURRENT (October 2009)
For every dollar donated to our organization, we intend to distribute more than $30 in humanitarian aid to some of Jamaica's most vulnerable children. In just a few months, we will be packing a 40-foot ocean shipping container filled with supplies (i.e., health/hygiene kits, baby kits, and school kits) that will benefit children throughout the island. With your donation, we can reach our goal of $100,000 in aid by the end of the year.
